Sally B's Skin Yummies was built by someone who had every reason to take ingredient labels seriously — and discovered that almost no one else was.
Where this started
In 1990, I was diagnosed with bone cancer. Surgery and radiation saved my life — but left me with damaged lymph nodes and lymphedema in my right leg that I have managed every day since. For years after treatment, I was cycling in and out of the hospital with infections, handed antibiotics each time, and never finding a real answer.
Then someone introduced me to an alternative medicine healer who changed how I thought about everything I put in and on my body. She taught me about juicing, eating organic, and reading what I was consuming with real scrutiny. My infections became far less frequent. And somewhere in all of that, I started making cosmetics as a hobby — just for the joy of it.
When I brought some products to her as a holiday gift, she asked me one question: were the ingredients organic? This was 1998 or 1999. Certified organic skincare ingredients were almost impossible to find. That question sent me on a years-long search — to source the cleanest possible ingredients, to understand what I was actually putting on my skin, and eventually to build a brand around that standard.

What we built
Sally B's Skin Yummies launched in 2005 — before "clean beauty" was a category, before the ingredient transparency movement existed, before most brands had any reason to care what was actually in their formulas. We cared because we had to. That standard hasn't changed.
Every product is handcrafted in small batches in our Atlanta studio. We use the highest concentration of certified organic ingredients available in every formula — not because it's a marketing claim, but because it's the whole point. We are an American company. Our ingredients are chosen one by one. If something doesn't meet the standard, it doesn't go in.
Leaping Bunny Certified
All of Sally B's products are Leaping Bunny Certified by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics. This means no animal testing was performed on any ingredient or phase of manufacturing.
